In this window you can write your own code or simply get example codes from menu shown by three dots on upper right corner. Step 3: You will find Sketch option in Dropdown menu as shown below.

In sketch menu, there is Examples option, click on it. In this menu you will find some examples as in Arduino IDE. Choose the example code you want to burn inside Arduino.

Now tap on "Apps", now there should be only apps. We want the apps "ArduinoDroid" and "ArduinoCommander". Okay, the first app I want to show you is "ArduinoCommander". It is by Anton Smirnov and is for Andorid 2. This app is for working with the Arduino on an Android device, you can change pins easy directly set pins hight or low , upload sketches or read analog pins with a oscilloscope mode.

The app is easy to understand, even if the controlls are unusual. It finds the Arduino automatical and doesnt crash. But sadly some of the functions didnt work when i tried to use them, hopefully that get fixed. Uploading a sketch worked very good! First we have to start the app, now a blue window wih 4 options should appear. Now tap on "Autodetect", the Android device will now scann for Arduino s nad show them on the screen. We will pic our Arduino just tap on it. After we did that the app will now show us our Arduino as a drawn animation.

Normally it is colored and you can tap the pins, to change their mode. This didnt work for me, sadly i couldnt fix it for me, maybe it works for you. Now the seccond app, which allows us to upload sketches to our Arduino.

This app is called "ArduinoDroid" and is for Android 4. His solution uses Hans Felhr's library rather than the Physicaloid library. Bottom-bottom-line: Thanks for being a pathfinder and taking the risk to broadcast your work. Many thanks for this work of yours I'll try if it still works in with Android Pie 9.

Receiving 'cannot open' message when clicking Open. Receive nothing when clicking send - can someone please get back to me? Thanks for this code Is it only for main activity??

I am trying to get system time and send to arduino serial it is not working. Thanks - that was a very useful primer on how to install Android Studio and get started writing code - even if I'm also having a "cannot open" issue. I note that the LEDs which are normally on when the arduino is plugged into the computer are not on in this case, so it might be a lack of power the Bluno I'm using needs 7 volts DC - think I've seen OTG cables which supply extra juice which might do it.

But your android program returns only "Cannot Open". Most needed one for me. Question 3 years ago. I am trying to use this tutorial to interface with another usb device through OTG cable but i don't want to connect always says "can't open" although i changed the vendor and product id. Note: my device that i want to communicate with only reply when i send something to it, not like arduino always sending data from start.
